The first single from Aspects, my forthcoming album is out now.
The song, entitled Connected features one of my all time favourite MCs - Blu. Having grown up listening to Below The Heavens, and following his career with features including J Dilla, Madlib, The Roots and many more. In addition, a lyricist who whether rhyming in English or French fits the beat like a glove - Napoleon Da Legend. Whose unique approach to lyricism tells a poignant and deeply reflective story within Connected.
Alongside Blu and NDL are joined by JabbaThaKut on scratch duties, my regular collaborator Thalassic on sax and Mac Lloyd bringing the super smooth guitar and basslines.
The artwork for the singles and album have been created by Japanese artist Nearski, whose attention to detail and creative stylings have really helped to expand the themes within Aspects as a whole.
The video was directed by Oliver Whitehouse of Sektion Red whilst in New York, with a focus on finding a connection.
